Berger August Update

Wow, I haven't update the blog in a while!
Well, Brett's team finished up the All-Select tourney in 4th. He did a great job! He will be on to basketball in October; however, we are not sure what league he's playing in yet. Brett also started the 5th grade this week. He loves school and was ready for it to start. His classes are Bible, Band (cornet), Guitar, PE, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Art, Reading, Language and Math. He has changed after-school programs this year; he is now staying at school instead of going to off-site care. Yeah...and the cost is less too. WooHoo
Tori and Peyton are doing great too. Peyton is only a few inches shorter than Tori; we are thinking she will catch up and pass Tori pretty soon. They love to play together AND fight. Peyton is coming into the terrible two's quite nicely. She loves to hit, bite, and let her sister know who's really in charge. They are both still momma's girls to the dismay of their dad.
Tori has moved to the Primary 4's class at school. She will continue to learn Spanish, German, sign language, gardening, cooking, etc. She has already learned how to point and name all the continents and most of the US states. I learned last night at open house that they will be labeling the continents with the their names as well as learning animal classifications (ie, mammal, reptile, amphibians, etc). Tori loves to learn, and we are so glad she is learning so much at school. Peyton is also doing great and will turn 2 in a couple of weeks. She is speaking so well now. She is also moving up at school. She will be continuing to learn basics for her age through the montessori programs.... They learn sign language and I think Spanish too AND potty training - YEAH! Both the girls enjoy extracurricular (more money for momma) activities at school such as Joyful Noise Music and Stretch and Grow exercise programs; Tori additional does ballet and gymnastics. We are thinking about enrolling her in violin lessons soon [taught through the Suzuki method]. I can't think of much more that is going on with our kiddos right now.
This last weekend we celebrated Hugh's and LaVon's 50th wedding anniversary with them. We had a great dinner, cake celebration and took a great family portrait to mark the occasion. My mom and dad also celebrated an anniversary last night! They are doing well. Dad is busy with H.S. football right now. I pray they have a fantasic year at Southland!
Alan has "hit the ground running" as Tech football fast approaches. He will be super busy through Christmas! I'm doing good too...just trying to make sure everyone is fed and where they need to be. Work has been a little slow, but I have kept busy.
...keep in touch!
